Minimalism is a genre of music in which motifs are repeated and gradually slightly modified over the course of the composition.

  1. Rob Strebendt: I would argue that this term be delineated with the term post-minimalism, as true minimalism only lasted through the late 1960′s. The style was mainly experimental with a few exceptions such as Reich’s Pendulum music, and It’s gunna rain.

  2. Rob, please feel free to edit/add to this definition. Although I appear as the author, I am not (all contents from the previous class was entered at once under my name).

I should add: It would be nice to have more contents specifically on rhythmic construction, as well.
