Structural Downbeat

A structural downbeat, as defined by Lehrdal and Jackendoff in A Generative Theory of Tonal Music (1983), occurs after a structural anacrusis, at which a phenomenal accent, a structural accent, and a metric accent occur simultaneously (see Lerdahl & Jackendoff, p. 33).

  1. Please add specific reference page. It would also be good to define “structural anacrusis” or at least link “anacrusis” to that definition.
