Phase Correction

Wikis > Glossary > Phase Correction

Phase correction is one of the two proposed models of sensorimotor synchronization (the other being period correction). It is when the listener adjusts the “time of occurrence of each successive action” but does not change the period (Repp 2006, 59). If you can imagine a graph of a sine wave, imagine simply shifting the start of the line to the left or right rather than squeezing or expanding the actual space the curve takes up.
